Cie Ni Desnudo Ni Bajando La Escalera / Les quatre points cardinaux sont trois : le nord et le sud
Since 2015, the circus artist Andrés Labarca brings together in Chile a collective of artists from different universes, aesthetics and disciplines. He mixes the circus, music, painting, delirious scenographies, everyday scenes and adds the need to start from a space, that of everyday life, imbued with great realism, and a strong plastic quality.
This research on space, installations, objects, materials, the links between interior and exterior, is built in dialogue with sound writing, and the writing of movement.
The support in delegated production from the Festival utoPistes allows him today to anchor his research in Europe and to engage in new artistic collaborations. With Justine Bougerol, visual artist whose scenographic creations in dance-theatre echo her research, with Jérémie Papin, creator of light for the theatre. And, in view of all their artistic affinities, it is the possibility of engaging in a collaboration with the acrobat-actor Sylvain Decure.
One imagines an old house, formerly beautiful, with floors, burnt down.
A house by the sea, accompanied by sand, which salt water could not save.
This space will be in perpetual motion, by its structural fragility, and by the life that persists inside.
In a research that constantly mixes realism with the strange, through sound, scenographic and acrobatic movements, it is a question of revealing fault lines that will shape this inhabited universe.
Are the two characters brothers, lovers, friends, or one and the same presence? Are they from the same era? When did they live within these walls?
In this place, the circus discipline will make it possible to divert objects from their primary function, and to revisit the circus movement itself.
